Summer...

Love is to the heart what the summer is to the farmer's year - it brings to harvest all the loveliest flowers of the soul. ~Author Unknown

When do you KNOW its summer? When you have to wear sunscreen? When go swimming? When you get out of school?

I know its summer when I hear the mosquito truck. (You know the one that goes around spraying mosquito spray?) Its not something most people think about when they think of summer, but when I hear that truck I KNOW its summer.

Webster defines summer like this: the season between spring and autumn comprising in the northern hemisphere usually the months of June, July, and August or as reckoned astronomically extending from the June solstice to the September equinox

I define summer like this: hot, mosquitoes, Off (bug spray), hot dogs, bonfires, ocean water, camp, laughter, bees, flowers, swimming pools, baseball, ice cream, mission trip, sunshine, bathing suits, steak, sunscreen, water hoses, dresses, sprinklers, firecracker Popsicles, bike rides, beach cottage, lemonade, flip-flops, hammocks, friends, fireworks, tans, shorts, sunsets, flowers, my family.

That's my definition of summer.

YouTube...LOVE IT!

I was checking out Jenny b Jones' Blog the other day when I saw a YouTube video of a boy singing Paparazzi by Lady Gaga. He's amazing! CHECK HIM OUT! WOW! that's the only word that can come out of my mouth. He's twelve years old from what I have gathered at least...but this boy blows my mind! I wanna get this kids autograph! Can we give the boy a round of applause?

This guy deserves some recognition as well...Lin Yu Chun. He kills Whitney's song! Go dude! For those who haven't heard Whitney Houston sing it click HERE! My man Lin Yu Chun can hit it!

And this song has become my favorite song. I'm absolutely in love with it! Isn't it pretty? And the pictures are gorgeous! Oh My Gosh...love it....*smile*

I have one question...Who's on first? That says it all....I have one more thing to say...THIRD BASE!

Its been looooooong time!

Well hey people! I know, i know....Its been a loooong time since I've blogged....I'm truly sorry. Now apologies aside....

I've been laughing all day about this conversation I had a couple weeks ago. I'm telling you its making me laugh......So my family, my friends and I were all out eating fast food right before we went to go see my little brother play baseball [he's quite the baseball player...] and we start talking about grandparents well one of my friends, Sam, says, "Whenever we go camping my grandpa is always like, 'shut the door you're letting the flies out!'" Well me and my bestie, Hannah [who's also Sam's sister], are like "Yeah." Then Sam looks at us funny and says, "Wait, I meant to say 'don't let the flies IN not OUT...Yeah he loves flies." I declare I'm still laughing over this!!!!!!!

Anyways......

I wanna wish my mama a happy mother's day! I love you to death Mama and I always will...thanks for always being there for me and taking care of me. Thanks for keeping me from things that I didn't understand at the time but realize [and will realize :] that it was for my own good, that you were looking out for me. Thank-you for loving Anderson, Finley and me even when we got in fights and didn't put up our laundry. Thank-you for the little things, like holding me when I'm sick, buying me owls :], praying for my future husband, giving me medicine when my braces are killing me, and taking me shopping. Thank-you for the big things, like showing me who my Savior is, homeschooling me, and feeding me healthy food. Mama I dedicate this song to you, I had the best day with you today! Mama, I love you and always will!

Pretty funny you-tuber

This has to be the funniest quote I've ever heard I got it as a tweet from Julian Smith, it said

"Best quote ever, And then God created Saturn and he liked it so he put a ring on it." -Julian Smith

Now I have no idea where he got that quote but he sent it to me so I'm giving credit to him. But the author of it obviously got the idea from the song Single Ladies by Beyonce. I just thought it was so stinking funny! I mean for real!

Julian Smith is pretty funny himself. He is a You-Tuber. (I have no idea what the 'correct' term for that is but I'm using 'You-Tuber' sounds fine to me.) Here is a couple of sketches that I find pretty funny, Hot Kool-Aid, Trees Hate YouYou In Five Minutes, and Jacquese And The Date. Those are probably my favorites...he has some merchandise as well...here is the link to that...Julian Smith's merch

OK I now KNOW what you are thinking....and the answer is no, Julian Smith is NOT paying me. I don't even know this guy.

The Beach...

"Can ye fathom the ocean, dark and deep, where the mighty waves and the grandeur sweep? "
Fanny Crosby

The other day, I wrote a short story about the beach...tell me what you think!

My feet dig into the cool sand. One deep breath, and you know exactly where I am. The beach. I plop down on the sand and look at my wrist. Shoot! I forgot my ponytail holder. Oh, well. I let the sea breeze whip my long brown curly hair about my face. I can feel the saltiness of the air on my skin and throughout my hair. I lay back. Resting and listening to the Atlantic Ocean's waves lap the shore of Nags Head.
Its 5:30 in the morning on June 21. Normally, tourists come to watch the sunrise on the beach, but today the Wright Brother's Memorial Park is having some healthy 'Wright Breakfast,' so the beach is free of newlyweds, families, and older couples. Its quiet, save for the cry of sea gulls overhead.
The sky is pink now. I sit up and feel the grit in my hair. A ways down the beach I see a lone sand piper. "How tranquil, how beautiful," my voice breaks the sounds of nature. I place my hands beside me to get up and my fingers find a shell. A treasure. I put 'God's jewlery' into the pocket of my jean shorts. The sun is peeking over the ocean. I run to the water's edge to greet it. The cold water runs around my ankles. I look up to the sky and thank the Creator of this beach. A large wave knocks me off my feet as if to say, "You're welcome, my child, enjoy what I have made for you."

How did you like it? I was outside when I wrote it...I could almost FEEL the sand between my toes! Oh how I love the beach....
